To deepen cross-Strait integrated development, the coastal city of Xiamen in East China's Fujian province rolled out a package of 25 measures on Monday, including subsidies, aimed at promoting the high-quality development of Taiwan-funded enterprises on the Chinese mainland.
The initiative is an implementation of the central government's document on supporting Fujian in exploring a new path for cross-Strait integration and building a demonstration zone.
The policies focus on enhancing economic opportunities, streamlining operations, and providing equal treatment for Taiwan businesses and individuals.
The 25 measures cover areas such as financial support, market access, industrial cooperation, support for individuals, and administrative efficiency.
Xiamen encourages Taiwan-funded enterprises to establish joint laboratories with local universities, research institutes, and provincial innovation labs. Enterprises can receive subsidies equal to 10 percent of their non-fiscal investment, up to a maximum of 10 million yuan ($1.43 million).
The city supports the inclusion of Taiwan-funded enterprises in its major scientific and technological projects, offering a maximum subsidy of 5 million yuan per project.
It is actively optimizing the business environment by encouraging Taiwan enterprises to host industry meetings and summits with significant influence. Subsidies for these events can reach 500,000 yuan.
Furthermore, the city supports participation in key exhibitions planned by the mainland industry and information technology departments, providing up to 1 million yuan in total subsidies per exhibition, covering as much as 80 percent of booth rental fees for individual companies.
