Carving out a sphere of influence or creating geopolitical confrontation will not make a country safer, still less bring peace to the world, China's Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.
Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning made the remarks in response to Monday's statement by the State Department of the United States regarding the Western Hemisphere: "This is our hemisphere, and President Trump will not allow our security to be threatened."
Mao stressed that sustainable security can only be achieved through common and cooperative security.
