Thongloun elected general secretary of 12th LPRP Central Committee

VIENTIANE -- The 12th National Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) was held in Lao capital Vientiane from Tuesday to Thursday. At the first meeting of the 12th Central Committee of the LPRP on Thursday, Thongloun Sisoulith was elected general secretary of the 12th Central Committee of the LPRP.

The election results were officially announced on Thursday afternoon. The live broadcast showed attendees standing to congratulate Thongloun, who subsequently delivered a speech.
