BEIJING -- China's strengthened export control on dual-use items to Japan aims to curb Japan's "remilitarization" and nuclear weapons acquisition attempts, and is fully justified, reasonable and lawful, a commerce ministry spokesperson said Thursday.
China is committed to maintaining the stability and security of the global industrial and supply chains, and civilian use will not be affected by the export control. Relevant parties that conduct normal civilian trade with China should have no worries, the spokesperson said.
China on Tuesday announced bans on the export of all dual-use items to Japanese military users, for Japan's military use, and for any other end-users and end-use purposes that could help enhance Japan's military capabilities.
