Chinese eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) vehicle developer Aerofugia announced on Wednesday that it has secured purchase orders for 300 units of its AE200 model.
The Chengdu, Sichuan province-based company has signed strategic cooperation agreements with AVIC International Leasing and Suyin Financial Leasing, marking a significant step toward the commercial rollout of its flagship aircraft.
The AE200 is a five- to six-seat manned eVTOL aircraft with a range of 200 kilometers. It is designed for commercial passenger transport in densely populated areas, as well as for scenarios such as air tourism and emergency rescue, according to Aerofugia.
The collaboration with AVIC International Leasing is set to explore diversified partnership models and integrate industrial chain resources to address challenges in scaling application and financing during the initial commercialization phase of emerging eVTOL products, Aerofugia said.
The partnership also seeks to accelerate domestic technological advancement and product innovation in the eVTOL sector through ecosystem co-development and resource sharing.
The cooperation with Suyin Financial Leasing is expected to provide Aerofugia with faster access to low-altitude economy pilot programs in eastern China, helping introduce the AE200 into practical application scenarios sooner.
