Explosion at restaurant in Afghan capital causes casualties: official

KABUL -- An explosion on Monday at a restaurant in the Afghan capital of Kabul has caused casualties, with an unspecified number of people killed and injured, Abdul Mateen Qani, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, confirmed to Xinhua.

The official added that investigations into the incident have been initiated, though the exact figures for fatalities and injuries remain unavailable at this time.

The restaurant is located on Golfroshi Street in Shahr-e-Naw area of Police District 4, within a fortified enclave in the heart of Kabul.
