Between the Thousand Years, an exhibition now showing at the Guardian Art Center in Beijing, displays the works of the three great ink art innovators, most from the Xu Beihong Memorial Museum collection in Beijing.

The exhibition runs until March 10 and showcases each artist's methods, which reinvented an old tradition facing preservation challenges. The works also offer a broader view of the social and cultural contexts of their time that drove their reforms, shaping the art scene and the influence of Chinese ink on the world stage.
