As China gets ready to celebrate the Spring Festival, its most important holiday for family reunion, the US tech company Apple Inc looks to better resonate with local people through a new short film created for the holiday.
During a festive and introspective moment, Apple has officially released short film -"Glad I Met You." Directed by Chinese female filmmaker Bai Xue, the short film tells the heartwarming story of Xiao Bai, a gluttonous dog who gets lost during the Spring Festival. The dog "encounters" a woman, riding a vehicle, and together they embark on a journey to find their way home. In the end, they heal each other and rediscover the warmth of life.
Compared to Apple's previous Chinese New Year videos, this video features real people and dogs, and combines stop-motion animation to depict inner emotions, presenting a more delicate portrayal of feelings.
Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, has posted the short film on Weibo, a Chinese social networking platform, saying that Glad I Met You is a story about finding yourself again with help from an unexpected friend.
Through a heartwarming story about "missed opportunities" and "reunions,", Apple demonstrates the capabilities of its flagship phones in low-light conditions, dynamic photography, and AI-assisted creative work.
This is the ninth year Apple has celebrated the Chinese New Year with a film shot on iPhone, as the US tech company aims to touch more local consumers.
