China backs revival of Beijing-Pyongyang passenger flights

China said on Monday that the planned resumption of passenger flights between Beijing and Pyongyang would be a positive step for facilitating friendly exchanges between the peoples of the two countries.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian made the remarks at a regular news briefing when asked to comment on reports that Air China will resume flights between Beijing and Pyongyang starting on March 30.

Lin said the relevant authorities had already released information regarding the matter.
