China lodges stern representations with US over four senators' visit to Taiwan region

BEIJING -- China firmly opposes official interactions between the United States and the Taiwan region, and has made stern representations to the US side, said a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson on Monday.

Spokesperson Mao Ning made the remarks at a regular press briefing in response to the recent visit to Taiwan by four US senators, urging the United States to take concrete actions to uphold the overall interests of China-US relations and peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.
