China's young sci-fi authors share future visions

Baoshu introduced his ongoing series Women de Kehuan Shidai (in pinyin), which combines elements of parallel universes and temporal narratives with modern Chinese history and everyday experiences, creating a grand narrative spanning a century.

Gu Shi shared insights into her work Ze Cheng (in pinyin), which reimagines the legendary figure Da Yu as the AI core of the city's emergency system. Set against the backdrop of climate disasters, the work explores the tension between technological decision-making and human ethics.

Liang Ling recommended her mockumentary novel Documentary: ”The Sweetness of Speed” (Anywhere Station), which uses technological concepts like "speed gummies" to delve into the food delivery industry. The work reveals the systemic challenges faced by workers under a society driven by efficiency, expressing her reflections on health and dignity.

Liang Qingsan discussed his long-standing fascination with historical science fiction through his new book The Gun of the Beginning's End, while Wang Weilian presented his short story collection Unfettered Future, focused on the dilemmas of the era and individual experiences in near-future scenarios.
