China reaffirms support for Cuba, opposes external interference

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said on Monday that China firmly supports Cuba in safeguarding its sovereignty and security, and opposes external interference in its internal affairs.

The remarks were made in response to recent comments by United States President Donald Trump suggesting that Cuba will be the next target of US military force after Iran.

Mao emphasized that China consistently advocates for respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries, and opposes any infringement on other nations' sovereignty or interference in their internal affairs under any pretext.

She further urged the US to immediately cease its blockade, sanctions, and any form of coercive pressure against Cuba, affirming that China will continue to provide assistance to Cuba within its capacity and in its own way.
