US President Donald Trump announced Thursday on Truth Social that Pam Bondi has been removed as US attorney general, after 14 months. He praised her loyalty and said she will move to a new private sector job. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche will serve as acting attorney general.
The decision follows White House frustration over the Justice Department's handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files and stalled investigations into Trump's political rivals. No permanent replacement has been named yet. This marks another high profile cabinet change. Earlier in March, Trump fired his homeland security secretary Kristi Noem.
