Xi's special envoy to attend inauguration of Congo president

BEIJING -- President Xi Jinping's special envoy Shao Hong will attend the inauguration of President of the Republic of the Congo Denis Sassou-N'Guesso in Brazzaville on April 16, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson announced on Tuesday.

Shao, also vice-chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, will attend the inauguration at the invitation of President Sassou-N'Guesso, the spokesperson said.
