Beijing is set to launch a reading campaign week from April 20-26, with themed activities scheduled across districts.

The Longfu Temple market in Dongcheng district will host a book fair, where spenders can enjoy that "new book smell".

Keeping with a theme of fragrances in spring, Xicheng district has the ongoing Centennial Lilac Poetry Gathering series.

In Chaoyang district, reading activities by the Liangma River will offer gentle riverside breezes.

Haidian district has invited academicians and scientists to participate in an event to donate their personal collections to local libraries.

Bookstores across the city are hosting exhibitions.

The annual Spring Book Market will be open from April 18 to April 26 in Chaoyang Park, Nanyuan Forest Wetland Park, Shougang Park, and the Old Summer Palace.

From April 26 to May 17, book vendors will present their books in the top shopping malls and universities in Beijing.
