AIGC science film creation camp launched at Beijing film festival

A creation camp for AIGC science films was officially launched on Monday during the ongoing 16th Beijing International Film Festival, initiating a 48-hour extreme creation challenge. The event aims to explore how AIGC technology can lower barriers to science film production and present scientific knowledge in a novel manner.

Held at the China Science and Technology Museum, the camp builds on a five-day systematic training session held at the end of March, during which more than 100 creators learned the entire workflow from scientific reasoning to AI generation.

At the camp's launch ceremony, Ren Hechun, director of the museum's online science popularization department, welcomed participants, saying, "You are the first explorers in science popularization venues who hold new tools and define new languages."

Centered on the theme "my brain-computer dog 2045", 19 cross-disciplinary teams are creating their works under the guidance of a mentor team composed of scientists, renowned directors and industry leaders.

The camp was presented at the opening ceremony of the festival's Science and Technology Unit via video link, showcasing the participants' innovative thinking and creative passion, while on-site experts were invited to comment on their interim works.

The China Science and Technology Museum has launched a 48-hour uninterrupted panoramic slow livestream, allowing netizens to witness the entire creation process of AIGC science films.
