A new legal service mini-program, designed by prosecutors in Beijing's Tongzhou district, was launched on Tuesday to provide judicial assistance to enterprises facing intellectual property challenges as they expand internationally.
Upon logging in, users can access IP-related legal resources from 84 countries across Asia and Europe. This initiative by the Tongzhou District People's Procuratorate addresses corporate concerns and enhances online service innovation.
Liu Chao from Xiaomi Corp highlighted the automotive industry's challenges abroad, including IP issues in the supply chain and rapidly obsolete patents. The company plans to focus on legal consultation, risk assessment for overseas operations, and improving IP systems at overseas research centers.
Zhao Qian from Li-Ning Sports emphasized the challenges of malicious trademark registrations and evidence gathering, expressing a need for systematic legal protection and support from judicial authorities.
Since 2023, Tongzhou prosecutors have handled 27 foreign-related IP cases, with trademark infringement being a predominant issue. To address this, they have strengthened connections with enterprises to provide effective IP judicial services for overseas business expansion.
