China urges US to abandon bias following AI IP claims

Beijing on Friday slammed Washington's smear regarding the development of artificial intelligence in China, urging the United States to stop technological coercion.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun made the remarks after the White House on Thursday accused China of stealing intellectual property from US AI labs "on an industrial scale".

Such remarks have no evidence, Guo said while expressing firm opposition.

He urged the US to respect the facts, abandon its bias, and focus on actions that are conducive to bilateral scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation.
