Michael Jackson biopic tops China's box office

A biopic about the late music legend Michael Jackson has topped China's box-office charts since its premiere on Friday, stirring a wave of nostalgia among his Chinese fans.

Titled Michael, the film stars Jaafar Jackson as his legendary uncle. It follows Jackson's journey from his childhood in the American pop group the Jackson 5 to his 1988 Bad tour — the first solo concert tour of his career — chronicling his rise from child star to the "King of Pop".

A special screening was jointly held by IMAX and the Michael Jackson Chinese Fan Community at Beijing Perfect World Cinema on April 24.
