Chongqing theme parks celebrates birthday of tiger twins, 'Dopey and Grumpy'

The Locajoy Theme Park in Chongqing's Yongchuan district celebrated the second birthday of its beloved tiger twins, "the Dopey and Grumpy", on Friday. The celebration featured a special meat-and-fruit "birthday cake" for the tigers and a birthday-themed event for visitors to enjoy an immersive experience with the animals.

Earlier this year, a video featuring this pair went viral, capturing the hearts of social media users with their endearing and contrasting personalities. Affectionately nicknamed "the Dopey and Grumpy", the duo has become an internet sensation.

The video, captured by a visitor, shows the majestic pair lounging side by side on the grass, basking in the sun. Their expressions — one appearing absent-minded and the other perpetually displeased — quickly endeared them to both visitors and netizens alike.

This playful comparison draws on a classic Chinese children's story, which was adapted to a short animation and released in 1962. The story features characters, one known for forgetfulness and another for perpetual dissatisfaction, that perfectly encapsulate the tigers' contrasting yet lovable traits.
