159 million passenger trips handled by railway during the May Day travel rush

China's railway network set multiple holiday records during the May Day travel rush, handling 159 million passenger trips from April 29 to Wednesday.

This included a historic single-day peak of 24.84 million trips on May 1, according to the China State Railway Group on Thursday.
