AI, quantum tech, and robots headline Beijing high-tech expo

AI, quantum technology, and robotics took center stage at the 28th China Beijing International High-tech Expo, which opened on Friday and runs through May 10 at the China National Convention Center in Beijing.
A range of cutting-edge technologies and innovations filling domestic gaps are on display, spanning sectors including embodied intelligence, commercial aerospace, advanced medical equipment, and semiconductors.
A group of humanoid robots from the tech hub Beijing E-Town offered visitors a glimpse into a future in which such machines become part of daily life.
Rocket models, including Zhuque-2 and Zhuque-3 from LandSpace and Galactic Energy's Ceres-1, also drew crowds. The exhibits underscored China's rapid advances in commercial aerospace, particularly in reusable launch technology and orbital launch capabilities.
At the Chaoyang district exhibition area, 18 cutting-edge technologies and innovative products made their debut, including a next-generation quantum computer and general-purpose photonic quantum chips.
Other highlights included industrial intelligent robots, autonomous following robots, AI-powered cultural heritage demonstration robots, and the unveiling of the country's first satellite-based Internet of Things payload.
