China ready to deepen cooperation with Russia, says Foreign Ministry

China is ready to work with Russia to continue upholding the spirit of permanent good-neighborliness and friendship, comprehensive strategic coordination, and mutually beneficial cooperation, Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said on Monday.

Guo made the remarks at a daily news briefing after Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia-China strategic coordination has become a key pillar in preventing conflicts and maintaining global strategic stability.

China and Russia are comprehensive strategic partners of coordination for a new era, Guo noted.

In recent years, under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China-Russia relations have maintained a high level of development, injecting strong stability into a world marked by turbulence and transformation, he added.

China is willing to further strengthen cooperation with Russia in various fields and work together to promote a more just and reasonable global governance system, Guo said.
