China urges efforts to safeguard global energy and supply chains

Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said on Friday that China is willing to work with all parties to safeguard global energy security and the stability of industrial and supply chains.

He made the remarks at a daily news briefing when asked whether China had agreed to purchase American oil during talks between the two heads of state.

The pressing priority is to promote the restoration of peace and stability in the Gulf and the broader Middle East, Guo said.
