China's Foreign Ministry has announced that Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will pay an official visit to China from Saturday to Tuesday.
Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun made the announcement at a regular news briefing on Thursday. This month marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan.
"Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's official visit to China is an important high-level exchange between the two countries as they mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties," Guo said.
The leaders of the two countries will have in-depth exchanges of views on bilateral relations and issues of mutual concern, providing guidance for the development of China-Pakistan relations under new circumstances, he added.
As well as attending a reception celebrating the 75th anniversary of China-Pakistan diplomatic relations, Sharif is set to visit Zhejiang province.
According to Guo, China hopes the two sides will use the visit as an opportunity to carry forward their traditional friendship, deepen all-around cooperation, and write a new chapter in the building of an even closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era.
