In a response to the United States' strike on Iran's missile facilities, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning urged relevant parties to "honor their commitments to ceasefire" on Tuesday.

The US military struck missile launch sites and mine-laying boats in southern Iran on Monday, the US Central Command said.

Mao said at a daily press briefing in Beijing that China urges relevant parties to "resolve disputes through peaceful means".

Beijing calls on the parties to "continue working through dialogue and negotiations to reach a solution that addresses the legitimate concerns of all sides and to promote the early restoration of peace in the Middle East and the Gulf region", she said.
