China expresses condolences over deadly explosion in Myanmar

China on Monday expressed deep condolences over a deadly explosion in northeastern Myanmar and extended sincere sympathies to the families of the deceased and the injured.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said at a regular press conference that the blast caused multiple casualties, with one Chinese national injured. The injured citizen has received medical care, he added.

China will continue to closely follow the progress of the investigation and provide necessary assistance for the aftermath of the accident, Lin added.
