Tariff concessions at Guangdong import and export ports rose by more than 32 percent for the second consecutive year in 2025, as the province marks the third anniversary of the full implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement.
According to a statement released by Guangdong Customs on Wednesday, Guangdong ports recorded 53.8 billion yuan ($7.94 billion) in preferential-duty eligible imports over the three years ending Tuesday, generating 1.4 billion yuan in tariff concessions. Annual concessions grew 8.81 percent in 2023, 32.35 percent in 2024, and 32.12 percent in 2025.
RCEP, the world's largest free trade agreement in force, covers tariff reductions, streamlined customs clearance, and improved trade and investment rules across its member economies.
Guangdong Customs said it would continue refining RCEP clearance facilitation, helping enterprises identify optimal tariff preferences based on their products and supply chains, and expanding the pool of certified Approved Exporters, a status that unlocks additional benefits for internationally accredited trade operators.
