Ceramic exhibition in Changsha bridges past and present

The exhibit features 99 ceramic works selected from across the nation, mapping a range from traditional underglaze techniques and process innovations to material experiments and contemporary concepts.

"The Changsha kiln holds an important place in global ceramic history," said Zhi Min, curator of the exhibit and head of the Sculpture Institute at the Chinese National Academy of Arts.

Public awareness of the kiln's historical value remains relatively low. Zhi hopes the exhibit will provide a broader platform for ongoing research and creativity in the art of ceramics.
