Multigenerational cast makes show's new season shine

The seventh season of The Treasured Voice, a music competition show that brings together artists from different backgrounds to adapt and perform classic songs, will premiere on Zhejiang TV on Friday.

Singer-songwriter Xue Zhiqian will serve as the show's judge and host. The regular multigenerational singing cast includes 59-year-old Jeff Chang from Taiwan, 57-year-old Sun Nan, 44-year-old Chen Chusheng, and 27-year-old Huang Zihongfan. Other celebrities, including actress Tan Songyun and actor Zeng Shunxi, are also among the participants.

All participants are allowed to form teams, adapt classic tracks, and perform the rearranged works together on stage. A new segment has also been introduced this season in which AI singers will compete.

Many participants have expressed on social media that they look forward to setting aside their established labels and reinterpreting classic songs.

The seventh season is expected to produce multiple hit songs rearranged through collaboration and live competition among musicians of different ages and styles.
