State Grid Oroqen Autonomous Banner Power Supply Company has strengthened digital inspections of local distribution networks as rising temperatures push up electricity demand, the company said.
According to the company, infrared thermometers, unmanned aerial vehicles and smart inspection terminals have been deployed to check distribution lines, transformers, switches, line fittings and other key facilities, with the aim of detecting overheating components, abnormal connections and line defects at an early stage.
Infrared devices are used to identify temperature anomalies, while smart terminals record real-time operational data to support maintenance decisions, the company said.
It added that UAVs are being used in mountainous and remote areas that are difficult to access through conventional patrols, helping improve inspection coverage and efficiency.
The company said it has also stepped up monitoring of construction sites near power lines. By combining digital inspection with on-site checks, inspection teams can track construction activity, assess risks of external damage and take preventive measures in a timely manner.
The digital approach has helped improve risk identification, reduce labor intensity and lower on-site safety risks, according to the company.
The company said it will continue to expand the use of intelligent inspection equipment and strengthen maintenance management to ensure a safe and stable power supply during the summer peak.
