Wanrong county begins wheat harvest on Yellow River tidal flats

"This year we planted 400 acres (161.87 hectares) of wheat, and now we are officially harvesting the entire line," said Xue Manqiang, a large-scale grain grower.

Xue said that this year's rainfall, combined with scientific planting and refined management, has made the wheat resistant to lodging and disease. "The ears are big, and the grains are full, and the harvest has exceeded our expectations by 20 percent," he said.

Relying on convenient irrigation conditions, the mudflat area of the Yellow River provides good water and soil conditions for wheat growth. The local agricultural department provides full guidance on agricultural technology, achieving stable and high yields.
