China pledges more humanitarian assistance for Iran and Lebanon

China has decided to provide a new batch of humanitarian assistance to Iran and Lebanon in the near future to help the two countries advance reconstruction and improve their economies and livelihoods, the Foreign Ministry announced on Wednesday.

China is deeply saddened by the humanitarian disaster in the Middle East caused by the US-Israeli conflict with Iran and its spillover effects, Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said.

In March, China provided emergency humanitarian assistance to Iran and other countries impacted by the conflict.

China will continue to offer support and assistance to the best of its ability, Lin said, adding that the country will also continue to promote peace talks and play a constructive role in restoring peace and tranquility in the Middle East at an early date.
