Yin Jianye, a former senior political adviser in Jiangxi province, has been expelled from the Communist Party of China and dismissed from public office for serious violations of Party discipline and national laws, China's top anti-graft authorities said on Monday.

The decision followed an investigation by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision.

Investigators found that Yin, former vice-chairman of the Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, had sought political patronage, resisted the investigation and violated rules on official conduct, according to the statement.

He improperly borrowed vehicles and accepted banquets, trips and golfing activities from individuals under his supervision or receiving services from him. He also visited private clubs, failed to report personal matters as required and used his influence to secure job transfers and promotions for his wife and others.

Yin accepted gifts and money, engaged in sex-for-power and sex-for-money transactions, gambled with individuals under his supervision and interfered in law enforcement activities. He also abused public power for personal gain, helping private business owners secure project contracts and business benefits in exchange for a large amount of money and valuables.

His illicit gains have been confiscated, while his suspected crimes and the assets involved will be transferred to procuratorial authorities for review and prosecution.

Yin, 62, a member of the Bai ethnic group, was born in Yunnan province. He joined the CPC in 1985 and began his career in 1986.

He spent much of his career in Yunnan, where he served as director of the provincial audit department, Party chief of Dali Bai autonomous prefecture, vice-governor of the province and deputy head of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee.

Yin moved to Jiangxi in 2015 and subsequently served as vice-governor of the province, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jiangxi Provincial Committee and head of the provincial commission for political and legal affairs. He became a vice-chairman of the Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the CPPCC in 2022.

Yin was placed under disciplinary review and supervisory investigation in December 2025 while serving in the post.
