More than 1,700 representatives from political, business, academic and media circles around the world will gather in Dalian, Liaoning province, for the Summer Davos Forum amid rising global turbulence and economic uncertainty, Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said on Monday.

The 17th Annual Meeting of the New Champions, also known as the Summer Davos Forum, will be held in the northeastern port city from Tuesday to Thursday, drawing participants from more than 90 countries and regions.

Guo said their participation demonstrates the international community's shared desire to address challenges together and promote common development.

Guo described the forum as an important platform for promoting exchanges between China and the rest of the world and advancing practical cooperation.

"The international landscape is marked by growing turbulence and changes, while instability and uncertainty in the global economy are on the rise," he told a regular news briefing.

Against this backdrop, participants will discuss ways to promote global economic growth and cooperation, Guo said.

"China stands ready to work with all participants to champion openness and inclusiveness, promote mutual benefit and win-win cooperation, advance dialogue and collaboration, and contribute to the development of the world economy," he added.
