BEIRUT -- Two people were killed and two others injured on Tuesday morning during Israeli machine-gun fire targeting civilians near a bulldozer clearing a road in the town of Nabatieh al-Fawqa in southern Lebanon, Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA) reported.

Later, an Israeli airstrike targeted an excavator clearing the rubble from a previously-hit house in the same town, according to local news website Al Markazia.

Separately, an Israeli drone dropped a stun grenade over the town of Kfar Tebnit in southern Lebanon, and Israeli forces opened fire toward residents on the outskirts of the town of Hadatha as they headed to the local cemetery for a burial, accompanied by the Lebanese army, the NNA reported.

Israeli reconnaissance and unmanned aircraft were flying at medium altitude over the city of Tyre and its surroundings, and over Beirut's southern suburbs, the NNA added.

In response, Hezbollah denounced in a statement the Israeli attacks as a "blatant violation" of the latest ceasefire agreement.

Meanwhile, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) wrote Tuesday on social media platform X that it struck "armed terrorists who posed an immediate threat" to its troops operating in the "security zone" in southern Lebanon.

The developments came despite the ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel that took effect on Friday.

On Monday, Israeli leaders said the IDF will continue to act to neutralize "threats" in southern Lebanon, even with ongoing diplomatic efforts to facilitate US-Iran talks and de-escalate regional tensions.
