The first all-cargo flight between Shanghai and London operated by Eastern Air Logistics Co, the freight unit under parent company China Eastern Air Holding, debuted on Tuesday, carrying 96.3 tons of cargo from the Shanghai Pudong International Airport to London Stansted Airport, according to the Shanghai-based carrier.
The new all-cargo route is expected to further expand logistics links between China and Europe, supporting closer trade and economic ties.
Operating every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, the cargo flight will transport cross-border e-commerce parcels, high-end light industrial products, electronic components, and high-precision parts from Shanghai. On the return flight from London, the aircraft will carry imports including medical equipment, automotive parts, and fresh produce such as salmon.
