Four people accused of involvement in gambling operations and kidnapping in the Philippines have been repatriated to China, thanks to cooperation between Chinese and Philippine law enforcement authorities, China's embassy in the Philippines said on Tuesday.
Law enforcement agencies from the two countries jointly arrested and repatriated the two suspects on Friday, who are accused of working in the gambling industry and committing kidnapping offenses in the Philippines.
China and the Philippines cooperated again on Monday, repatriating two other suspects who are accused of involvement in a kidnapping case on Bohol Island in October 2023.
The victim in that case was rescued, thanks to the joint efforts of Chinese and Philippine police officers, the embassy said.
China will continue to firmly combat transnational crime and protect the lives and property of Chinese citizens in the Philippines, the embassy added.
