The 3rd Image Possibilities Coproduction Plan announced its selected projects on Tuesday at the Shanghai Exhibition Center. Since its inception in 2022, the plan has served as a flagship platform for presenting authentic, multi-dimensional narratives of China to global audiences through the universal language of images.

With the theme "China's Development, World's Opportunity", the initiative received 13,612 submissions from 46 countries. Ultimately, 160 projects were selected, covering themes ranging from grassroots livelihoods and rural revitalization to ecological conservation, scientific advancement, and international cooperation.

An integral part of the Shanghai TV Festival, which is taking place from June 22 to 26, the event also celebrated outstanding works from the "This is Shanghai" global short-video collection initiative.

Addressing the gathering, Yu Yingfu, vice-president of China International Communications Group, noted that this year's campaign drew extensive global participation, underscoring widespread international interest in Chinese modernization.

"Great visual storytelling focuses on people's lives, captures the warmth of China's development, explores deep cultural roots, and promotes shared human progress," Yu said, adding that the group will continue to foster platforms for cross-border audiovisual collaboration.

Song Jiongming, president of Shang Media Group, emphasized Shanghai's role as a vital window into contemporary China. He highlighted the group's strategic focus on documentary excellence — spanning nature, culture, social realities, and international co-productions — and pledged continued investment in ultra-HD and AI-generated content to enhance global storytelling.
