6.9-magnitude earthquake strikes off Japan's Iwate Prefecture: JMA

TOKYO - An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.9 struck off Iwate Prefecture in northern Japan on Thursday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
