Former CAAC discipline chief surrenders for investigation

Liang Chaoping, a former member of the Party leadership group of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, has voluntarily surrendered himself for suspected serious violations of Party disciplines and national laws, the country's top anti-corruption authorities announced on Monday.
Liang, who also served as head of the administration's discipline inspection group, is under investigation by the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision. No further details were disclosed.
According to publicly available information, Liang, 70, is a native of Jiangxi province. He began his career in July 1973 and joined the Communist Party of China in June 1981.
Liang held various positions in the work committee and discipline inspection work committee for departments directly under the CPC Central Committee for many years. In June 2012, he was appointed head of the discipline inspection group and a member of the Party leadership group of the Civil Aviation Administration of China.
