China's 80 tons of assistance arrive in Venezuela

The first batch of 80 tons of assistance supplies, including electric generator, water purifiers, blankets and carpets, offered by Chinese government have arrived in Venezuela, the Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday, expressing willingness to provide more support in light of the developments of the disaster situation in the country.

China has also provided Venezuela with satellite images of the disaster-affected region, the ministry's spokeswoman Mao Ning said.

Chinese enterprises and overseas Chinese communities in Venezuela have also provided a large quantity of machinery, equipment and food to support the country, she said.

She also called on the United States to comprehensively lift its sanctions on Venezuela at an early date so as to create favorable conditions for the reconstruction of the country after the disaster.
