15 killed after boat capsizes off Vietnam's Phu Quoc island

HANOI -- Fifteen people were killed after a boat capsized off Vietnam's southern Phu Quoc island on Saturday afternoon, local media VnExpress reported.

The vessel, carrying 32 Indian tourists and four crew and service members, overturned in the waters off Phu Quoc, according to the report.

Twenty-one people were rescued and brought ashore, while the bodies of 15 victims were recovered.

Rescue forces, including local authorities, coast guards and nearby vessels, were deployed to the scene following the incident.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
