Over 100b parcels handled by Chinese express delivery companies in H1

China's express delivery companies handled 100.38 billion parcels in the first half of 2026, up 5 percent year-on-year, according to data released by the State Post Bureau of China on Friday.

Revenue from express delivery services rose 7.3 percent to 771.41 billion yuan ($113.86 billion) during the January-June period, growing faster than parcel volume.

Deliveries between different cities and regions accounted for the vast majority of the total. Such shipments increased 6.1 percent to 91.01 billion parcels, while international deliveries and shipments involving Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan rose 6.6 percent to 2.15 billion.

Same-city deliveries, however, declined 8.4 percent to 7.22 billion parcels.

In June alone, express delivery companies handled 17.51 billion parcels, up 3.8 percent from a year earlier, while revenue increased 7.7 percent to 136.04 billion yuan.

China's annual express delivery volume passed the 100-billion-parcel mark on June 30, nine days earlier than in 2025. The milestone reflects the scale of the country's e-commerce and logistics networks, which connect online retailers, manufacturers and consumers across both major cities and smaller communities.
