China actively responds to the UN's Early Warnings for All initiative, promoting the transformation of meteorological AI from technology export toward capacity building, operational integration, and ecological sharing. The CMA launched the MAZU-FengYun Satellite AI Box and FengHe Large Language Model-Based Al Meteorological Service System at the 2026 WAIC. MAZU-China Intelligent Meteorological Early Warning Solution will further support global cooperation on disaster prevention and mitigation.

The advantage of AI meteorological technology lies in its ability to reduce the time spent making predictions, and it can identify subtle changes that human analysts might miss. However, challenges persist. The low frequency of extreme events results in insufficient training samples. We must adhere to a human-machine complementarity approach, allowing forecasters to play a gatekeeping role in comprehensive analysis.
