China will expand imports of advanced technology and equipment, key components, energy resources and quality agricultural products during the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) period, the country's top customs official said on Wednesday.
Speaking at a news conference in Beijing, Sun Meijun, minister of the General Administration of Customs, said customs authorities will promote more coordinated growth in imports and exports and work to conclude more trade cooperation agreements.
Sun said these measures will enable more countries to share opportunities created by China's vast market while offering Chinese consumers a wider range of products.
On the trade partner front, China has continued to consolidate and expand trade with emerging markets, including the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, Latin America and Africa, according to information released by the GAC.
Sun said China's trade with the United States rebounded in April and continued expanding in May and June, indicating that the new positioning of China-US relations has provided stable expectations for bilateral and global trade and economic development.
