Five killed in Shanxi land collapse

Five people were killed in a sudden loess soil collapse in Haoyi village in Linfen city, Shanxi province, on Friday evening.

According to authorities in Linfen, local emergency services responded promptly to the collapse, which happened at 6:49 pm on Friday. As of Saturday morning, rescue operations were ongoing.

A preliminary investigation indicated that continuous rainfall during the flood season loosened the soil, triggering the deadly accident.
