Fourth round of search completed after Gansu flash flood leaves 10 dead

According to the Gansu Provincial Fire and Rescue Corps, 305 firefighters, 68 fire engines, and four search dogs were deployed to the scene. Eventually, 247 people were evacuated from the affected area.

Mao Weidong, vice-mayor of Weiyuan county, said more than 160 rescue vehicles and heavy machinery had been mobilized, while 45 ambulances were dispatched to transport the injured to hospitals across the county.

Heavy rain continued to affect Huichuan from Sunday afternoon through the early hours of Monday, prompting the on-site command headquarters to temporarily suspend rescue operations to ensure the safety of emergency personnel. Search efforts resumed after the rainfall subsided.
