Neolix HK, VTC partner to develop autonomous driving, nurture talent

Neolix, a Beijing-based L4 autonomous logistics solutions provider, announced a strategic partnership between its Hong Kong branch and the Engineering Discipline of Institute of Vocational Education — under the Vocational Training Council — on July 27, to pave the way for Hong Kong's first autonomous RoboVan trials and to nurture the next generation of engineering talent.

The announcement comes as Hong Kong accelerates its transformation into a world-class smart city, with autonomous driving as a cornerstone of that vision.

Under the partnership, IVE Engineering and Neolix Hong Kong will conducting pilot trials of autonomous vehicles on public roads and within VTC campuses. They will jointly apply for autonomous vehicle testing permits to support the pilot trials in Hong Kong. They will also design and enhance specialized training programs in autonomous driving applications for both IVE Engineering students and industry practitioners.

Established in 1982, VTC is the largest vocational and professional education and training provider in Hong Kong.

"This MoU is more than the start of a collaboration; it is a milestone in nurturing the next generation of engineering talent and strengthening Hong Kong's innovation and technology ecosystem," Lam Tze Shan, deputy academic director of VTC Engineering Discipline, said.
