Ex-China Minmetals GM investigated for serious legal, Party violations

Guo Wenqing, former general manager of China Minmetals Corporation, is under investigation for suspected serious violations of Party discipline and national laws, China's top anti-graft authorities said on Friday.
Guo voluntarily turned himself in and is currently being investigated by the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision, according to a statement issued by the authorities.
Guo, 61, a native of Hebei province, previously served as chairman of Metallurgical Corporation of China Ltd and chairman of China Metallurgical Industry Group Corporation.
In 2016, he became general manager and deputy secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group of China Minmetals Corporation. He remained in the posts until his retirement in 2024.
